Billericay produced a solid second half display to progress to the fourth round of the Westview League Cup. They have been drawn at home to Tooting and Mitcham. The first half was a bit of a non event and Billericay were poor. Simon Parker had 2 great chances for Maldon, but failed to score. Parker eventually put Maldon in front when he took advantage of a slip from Sappleton to put the ball past Millard. Billericay improved in the second half and equalised when Danny Hockton headed in a John Simmons cross. A Chris Bourne cross then caused havoc and Danny Hockton put the loose ball in the net to make it 2-1. Billericay had further chances, the highlight being Tom Poole's 30 yard volley, which the Maldon keeper only just pushed over the bar. Billericay have the chance to progress in the FA Trophy on Saturday when they play away against Heybridge Swifts. |
