Billericay produced a convincing display to soundly beat relegation threatened Windsor & Eton. The opening half was mainly dominated by Billericay with Windsor relying on counter attacks. Billericay had a few efforts of note and caused the Windsor defence to scramble the ball away quite a few times. George Lay twice and Warren Ryan both caused saves to be made by the Windsor keeper. Danny Hockton also went close with a header from a corner, but the ball went just wide. George Lay's injury soured things for the Blues as he was caught by a Windsor defender, which unfortunately resulted in a serious injury. In the 2nd half Billericay seemed to be determined to improve and deservedly took the lead midway through the half through Warren Ryan's first goal for the club. He hit a good shot from outside the area into the bottom corner, but Drake failed to reach it, when he really should have saved comfortably. Ryan set up a goal for Matt Game when his deflected shot fell for Game to volley home. Danny Hockton made it 3-0 in injury time as he notched up his 11th goal of the season by finishing Gary Henty's cross. |
