MATCH REPORT - MALDON TOWN 0 BILLERICAY TOWN 2 (HUNTER(PEN), POOLE)  RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION TUESDAY 25TH OCTOBER @ MALDON 7.45PM ATTENDANCE: 201.
MANAGERS: MALDON TOWN - , BILLERICAY TOWN - JUSTIN EDINBURGH.

Billericay produced a good performance to easily beat struggling Maldon Town. This was Billericay's first league victory since the middle of September. Conditions were not great for football, which was shown by the small crowd. Maldon did have the chance to take the lead when Dale Brightley flapped at a long ball. The ball fell to Simon Parker, but luckily Pat Sappleton was on hand to head the ball clear from under the cross bar. Billericay took the lead minutes later when Danny Cross brought down Tom Poole cynically in the area. The reliable Leon Hunter was on hand to slot home the resulting penalty. Billericay produced the better of the football in the second half. Ex-Billericay goalkeeper Dave McCartney had a lot to do. Firstly he saved well from Dormer and then stopped Tom Poole from getting a shot away. McCartney also saved well from Nathan Elder. It became 2-0 moments later when Matthew Game lashed in a shot from distance, McCartney saved the shot, but Tom Poole was their to head home the rebound. Matt Game went close to scoring again in the fnal minutes, but hit the bar. A convincing performance by the Blues with another seemingly easy fixture on Saturday against Hendon awaiting.
